But it wasn't snow that fell - it was giant hailstones. And when it wasn't hailing it was raining. The Wimbledon tennis championships in south London was washed out once again with fans having to run for cover as heavy, driving rain pummelled the grounds in short cloud bursts. Some areas saw nearly 7mm of rain fall in an hour and drivers were warned to take care on the roads.
