I first heard this song on UK BBC 1's Top Of The Pops back in the 80's when it had been first released as a single. I'd never heard of Clannad prior to this song. As a result I ordered the 'Past Present' audio tape from a audio tape club I was a member of, at the time. As a result of this particular song I discovered Clannad and their wonderful genre of music.
