The chief suspect in the hunt for missing Madeleine McCann faces fresh questioning by Portuguese police. Ex-pat Robert Murat, 33, will be asked to give a new statement to detectives at police headquarters in Portimao in the next few days. He will be quizzed for the third time after more witnesses cast fresh doubt over his alibi. Portuguese locals claim they spotted a man matching Murat’s description outside the apartment where Madeleine, four, was snatched from her bed on May 3.
The evidence follows claims from Kate and Gerry’s friends who say they saw Murat near the apartment shortly after Madeleine was taken.
Daily Merlin Insight
I no longer believe the news story around the continuing suspicion of Robert Murat. It no longer appears that Robert Murat is a suspect. It does not take THREE attempts to verify alibi information. His alibi will have been confirmed I intuit. This is now more to do with detracting attention away from the real suspect or suspects. The link between one of the McCann party and the disappearance of Maddy shines like a brilliant beacon in the darkness to me. It is so very apparent that the Portuguese Police have made a vital connection. It can only be a matter of time before the web is realised ... it remains to be seen if the hidden hands permit the gauntlet to close on the sword and something manifests this side of the hiding veil.
