NEWS that Portuguese cops plan more interviews in Britain and still suspect the McCanns over Maddie stunned the couple’s supporters.
But spokesman Clarence Mitchell insisted: “Kate and Gerry and their friends have consistently said that they are more than happy to be reinterviewed. They are keen to clarify any inconsistencies.
“The friends – like Kate and Gerry – have nothing to hide.”
A legal friend of the family added: “If the police come over it is absolutely no surprise. It has been mooted for weeks.
“We hope that the police, realising they have no case to answer, are just checking everything thoroughly before announcing that. If that’s the position, that’s fine with us.” (The Sun)
