UK government’s starvation policy

 Six decades of government-backed policies promoting agribusiness and pharmaceutical inputs over sustainable farming practices have created a perfect storm. The policies have led to a loss of soil nourishment and biodiversity, making the nation vulnerable to food shortages.

Historically, the country has maintained a 60% self-sufficiency rate in home production, but this figure has been declining and the UK’s domestically produced food is now at 32% of requirements.

Additionally, the modern consumer is ingesting a toxic and nutrient-depleted diet and major supermarket chains hold significantly less food reserve than before.

The future of farming and food production is under threat as oligarchs and their collaborators suggest that traditional farming may not be needed in the near future. This is all linked to global initiatives related to achieving net zero emissions, which are impacting agricultural production worldwide.

Julian Rose warns that there is little time left to act and avert a full-scale food/farming crisis. The UK must reverse its top-down approach and adopt sustainable agricultural practices to ensure food security and sovereignty.
