‘Triple flood threat’ triggers urgent warnings for millions as massive storm engulfs 15 US states

 A week-long “triple flood threat” is unfolding across a wide stretch of the United States, putting more than 15 million people in the path of potentially life-threatening rain.

Flood watches were posted in ten states Tuesday morning as meteorologists warned that Hurricane Polo’s remnants are combining with leftover moisture from Hurricane Odalys and a dip in the jet stream to form one sprawling storm.

The heaviest rain is expected Tuesday in Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas, with the threat lasting through the week. Watches also cover Utah, Nebraska, Missouri and Iowa.
