Maen Madoc ("Madoc's Stone") is 9 ft (2.7 m) tall and stands beside the Sarn Helen Roman road.
It has been re-erected twice in recent history; once in the 19th century and again in 1940, when it was moved about 59 ft (18 m) from its previous location.
