Personal Experience of Thorn

Thorn would make regular appearances in client readings and demonstations. It is a rune which, for me, likes to appear whenever it can. It is under the 'rulership' of the mighty Thor. Nigh on every time Thorn appears, there is a need for the subject to overcome an obstacle in life; or a need for some words of encouragement from 'yours truly' to urge compassionately for that person to let go of old and out grown hang up's that have held the person back, and were causing the person un-necessary harm. Days after Thorn's appearance in a reading or demonstration, there would be some 'event' taking place of an unexpected nature. Something positive. Something beneficial. I found this out from my own personal experience in rune casts for myself with unexpected phone calls over here in NZ; offers of contract work when all appeared to be lost, for example on several occasions. Feedback from clients indicated unexpected appearances of old friends, job offers, ends of feuds etc after Thorn had appeared in their reading. I'm not able to explain the occurrences logically ... only that it is the magic of the Runes. The magic of Thorn.

The Rune Thorn is very powerful.

I comprehend the energy as one of ultimate protection. The thorn or the hawthorn tree is a truly resilient tree indigenous to the UK. No matter what the weather conditions it survives. In hurricane force winds it can be seen to bend almost over onto the ground, only to bounce back into its original position afterwards unaffected. It is a true survivor. It is offers, as a hedge, unpassable protection with its closely knitted structure of sharp thorn points. It is because of these two reasons the rune Thorn is the ultimate protector. It offers hardiness and the ability to survive whatever is thrown at the person. Also, it is the provider of very powerful protection in threatening times.

The energy which Thorn releases into a person's life is best described as 'emotionless'; direct acting on the situations where its primordial programming is required. Brutal and blunt are other words to best describe the way Thorn acts.
