Daily Express Headline; says: ' A witness was “100 per cent certain” last night that she saw Madeleine McCann in Belgium. The child therapist has given police the most positive lead yet in the three-month kidnap hunt. She is adamant she saw the missing four-year-old accompanied by a swarthy Dutch-speaking man in his 40s and an English woman in her late 20s at a roadside restaurant on the Dutch border.Three new witnesses have come forward to support claims that the girl at the restaurant was Madeleine. A waiter and waitress corroborated the woman’s report that a couple acting suspiciously accompanied the child.
Police are so impressed by the accounts that they have issued a Europe-wide identikit drawing of a man they wish to question.
Detectives have described it as a “highly credible development”.
Briton Alex Murray, 60, recognised the man from the photofit image drawn up by police in Belgium. He spotted the Dutchman in Praia da Luz near the time the four-year-old was snatched. He said the man was “hanging around” the Jasmin Cafe – less than half a mile from the apartment where Madeleine was taken.
“When I saw the picture I recognised him straight away,” Mr Murray told the Daily Express.
“It just jumped off the page when I saw it.”
Mr Murray said: “He would always be in there talking to the bar staff and hanging around some of the people using the internet in there. He didn’t strike me as being on holiday because he never seemed to wear holiday garb.
“Sometimes he was in there with a woman I thought was in her 30s.”
Mr Murray also met Kate and Gerry McCann days after their daughter vanished.
Detectives leading the hunt are looking at the possibility that the couple are moving around with the woman scouting out safe havens before they are joined by the man and the little girl.
The latest sighting came last Saturday at about 2.30pm at the De Pauze restaurant, 10 miles from Maastricht on the Dutch border. Detectives arrived on the scene around 30 minutes after the group had left, but unfortunately the positioning of the restaurant on a road which links Holland, Belgium and Germany meant it was almost impossible to ascertain in which direction they had gone.
Jolien Houbrech, 21, who waited on the table is now convinced something was amiss. She said: “The witness noticed that the people’s behaviour was not that of normal parents.”
She added: “Now I wish I had done more and paid more attention to them.”
Colleague Ronny Timmermans, who also served the table with drinks, remembered what the little girl had ordered and was able to provide police with the empty bottle of the milkshake drink Fristi and the straw she had been using.
These have been sent to a laboratory where detectives are hoping to establish from DNA whether the youngster was missing Madeleine. The results of the tests are not expected immediately.

Was the girl seen at the De Pauze restaurant on Saturday 28th July 2007 Madeleine McCann?
Initially the Star was upturned as a chosen card! My heart was momentarily in my mouth ... my reaction forming was 'the girl was Madeleine McCann'. Then I saw the other image chosen beside it ... the 'Giver of Weapons' ... the blond haired figure dressed in white presenting the flaming sword to the kneeling knight ... it was then I 'understood'. This sighting is a diversion for something taking place in another part of the world and is buying time for the hand over of Madeleine to take place.
The intention of this news story is for people to immediately react by declaring 'at last there has been a sighting of Madeleine McCann ...' Having seriously considered all insights and intuitions ... I sense only another diversion ... in order for something of true significance to take place elsewhere.
The next pair of images upturned were the Moon and the Maker of Weapons. The maker has created this sighting ... and it is a deception ... of that I am sure. One of the many sightings of a girl which looks like Maddy McCann. But looking close at the report ... it is not the shining star. The crying wolf is not to be listened to ... the news story created on the 'anvil' by the maker from all of the full picture at his disposal. I therefore turn my attention away from this fabrication ... more than likely the credible witness does believe 100% it was Maddy McCann. But ... my focus is now elsewhere.
The next pair upturned were the Hanged Man & the 9 of Spheres. The implications of the Hanged Man are of no interest to me here. The symbolism of the perpetual 'hanging off the bough of the tree' is now of no relevance. The danger of the supposed 'sacrificial lamb' has now passed by. It is now a matter of time before the opportunity arrives for the glad tidings of joyous closure can arrive. The relevance of the Hanged Man is the number of that trump ... the number 12 ... dare I say between 9 - 12 days ... for something of equal significance unfolding?
Also, the Hanged Man depicts a storyline to 'bridge the gap' and buy some time to keep the story alive ; it is not quite time for Madeleine McCann to reemerge in the world. Though I feel her 'capture' is over and her 'concealment' is now for other reasons. A final phase now unfolds and is unfolding before our eyes.
