The rune Ansur signifies the divine force at work. The origin of its symbolism stems from ancient Sanskrit for the primal sound which preceded the manifestation of this cycle of the universe. Ansur is signified as the sacred Ash -- being a version of Yggdrassill, the Cosmic Axis --which controls the maintenance of order in the cosmos; eternal stability. Ansur can also be associated with the techniques of shamanism & with Odin, master of the Shaman.
Ansur in a rune casting can be understood as 'mouth' and communications. Basically, that which is to come --- news in advance. It has positive inclination, best seen that choices have been made which favour the order of the cosmos --- therefore it means when Ansur appears, in an upright position --- there are successful conclusions and good news ahead.
It is one of the more pleasing of the runes to see appear in a casting. Benevolent forces are almost always present when Ansur is in a reading. A powerful and dynamic force. Something which should not be underestimated. One of the most magical of the runes in my experiences of these magical symbols.
