Seemingly without a purpose this time

The exile watches the world go by

Insignificant pauper

A hidden face ... a defenceless pawn?

Is his purpose to merely watch from afar

As they plunder and destroy?

Seemingly powerless

Watched and handled

He is unable to change the reality of his mind

Are they aware of him ... even

Or is his pursuit of 'a face' meaningless

A false quest for him to consider

To distract him from purpose and ambition ...?
