Manifesting the ideal ...

Often major conscious mind decisions are made, but the programming of the sub-conscious mind is in conflict with the conscious mind and therefore counter-productive in attaining the conscious goal

For anything to really be effective -- including goal achievement, self-discipline or ideals -- the conscious and the sub-conscious mind must work together. Often major conscious mind decisions are made, but the programming of the sub-conscious mind is in conflict with the conscious mind and therefore counter-productive in attaining the conscious goal. Since so much of what we think and what we do comes from the sub-conscious, this is totally nullify any conscious desires -- in fact it will often make events happen which are totally opposite to what is intended. Properly setting an ideal will have an effect on both the conscious and subconscious realms of being.

If the subconscious mind is programmed for failure, then a person will become in activities which are counteractive and therefore will defeat the conscious goal.

If someone has no ideal, they will be like a piece of flotsam tossed on the tides of external forces ... whatever the the ideal -- self discipline, consistency and perseverance are the determining factors in whether the manifestation of the ideal is great or small or doesn't manifest at all.
