- What are we seeing here? Is it skillfully produced CGI effects over video, or is it the real deal? And would we ever really know the difference apart from someone coming forward recreating the videos...same location, etc...and demonstrating just how the hoax video was produced? Homemade videos are becoming remarkably well done and prolific, and with the sophisticated CGI programs available to just about anyone, should we be surprised? Either way, they cannot be ignored without a serious effort at investigation.
Thus far, email is running 10-1 in favor of this being CGI. What is remarkable is the level of uninformed audacity associated with the immediate, hands-down debunking. "That's a fake!" they write with total authority and cocky self-righteousness. So, who faked it?
What programs were used? We'd love to feature any such CGI achievement and give credit where credit it due -- these Haiti videos are quite a work of wizardry, if they are a fraud. Sadly, those who immediately debunk them have one thing in common: absolutely ZERO proof it is real OR fake. NONE. And, ironically, these people...some ufo researchers included...proclaim 'hoax' with the same knee-jerk reaction as professional debunkers do for legitimate UFO sightings.
If nothing else, the Haiti videos are an interesting exercise in holding the mirror up to the UFO community and watching so many of its members behave just like chronic debunkers -- no evidence, no proof, no inside knowledge whatsoever. Just research by proclamation.
The Haiti videos very well may be CGI...but real or fake, they're fascinating. The instant negative reaction of so many in the UFO community - without a shard of evidence - is perhaps the more interesting psychological issue at hand.
Furthermore, some who instantly debunk the Haiti videos, or any other credible-looking UFO videos, as being CGI fakes...actually then demand we agree with them and label the videos fakes...again, without a gram of evidence. Not a chance. What happened to open inquiry and serious analysis and in-depth investigation? (Rense.com ...)
