Typically Spanish Report 'Madeleine McCann parents give an interview to Spanish newspaper El Mundo'; says: 'They told the paper that they think their daughter is still alive and could be in SpainThe parents of missing British youngster, Madeleine McCann, who went missing on the Algarve in Portugal 111 days ago, say they think their daughter is still alive and in Spain.Kate and Gerry Mc Cann told the El Mundo newspaper in a telephone interview that they still believe that there is a real chance of finding the child alive.‘If someone has a car’, they observed, ‘it’s evident that they could cross into Spain – there is no control on the frontier’.‘We don’t have the smallest doubt’, the said, ‘we completely trust our friends’, and they insisted that Madeleine would not become just another statistic.It’s understood the couple got in touch with the Spanish newspaper as part of their continuing strategy of keeping the story alive in the world’s media.The couple said they had received a lot of support from the Spanish people and that they had treated Madeleine’s disappearance as if she was a Spanish child.
